Introduction
The BBS Archery section is run by the BBS Archery Committee who meet 4 times per year: at the Indoor and Outdoor Championships, and twice virtually in-between the competitions. The day to day running of the section is conducted between the members of the committee.
The Committee consists of:

Executive Officers are elected for 3 years and Committee Members for 2 years.
Who’s Who and Contact Information
The following information gives you an introduction to the members of the committee and a little background into their history and involvement in VI archery.
Please note that members of the committee are all volunteers, giving up their spare time and many have full time jobs. Therefore, please allow them time when you contact them. They will reply as soon as they are able to.

Nick Thomas

Nick is a B2 archer who has represented Great Britain internationally in 3 sports. He has won medals at British, European, and World level, and became World number 1 in 2025.

Marie Thomas (Non-VI)

Marie has been spotting for a VI archer since 2017 attending National and International competitions. Marie joined the committee in 2025 to help support the archery section in their future development and growth.

Roger Rees-Evans

Roger is a B1 archer and has been involved for over 40 years. A founding member and first Chairman of the BBS Archery Section, he has helped shape national and international VI archery.

Graham has been spotting and supporting VI Archery for over 20 years and has attended National and International competitions, including as VI Team Manager.

The Development Officer helps grow Visually Impaired Archery by promoting the sport, supporting archers and clubs, and improving accessibility, while working with the committee to keep information, training, and opportunities up to date. Marina Marples (Non-VI)

Marina has supported VI archery for 15 years attending both National and International competitions

Rick Smith (Non-VI)
Committee Member
Rick has been an archer since 1997 and is now an Archery GB Level 2 Coach. Rick has been involved in VI archery since 2014 including at international tournaments where he has made links with VI archers worldwide.

Clive Jones MBE
Committee Member
Clive is a B1 archer and Army veteran who lost his sight in 2000. He is currently ranked in the world top 10, has represented GB at European and World Championships, and is Chair of Blind Veterans UK Bowmen.

Eddie Green
Committee Member
Eddie is a B2 archer who has been shooting since 2021. Eddie made his BBS debut at the 2026 Indoor champs. Born with a visual impairment, Eddie is passionate about archery and hopes to progress to international competition in the future.
