BBS-AS Shop - Tactile Sights

Tactile Sights

Through the BBS-AS shop we offer 3 standard relatively simple tactile sights, all of which are compatible with our modified tripod. Please note that these sights may not fit unmodified tripods.

BBS-AS Sprung Contact Sight - £20

Image of Sprung Pointer Sight.

A basic sight with a sprung pointer contact point. It is recommended that something like a domed tap washer or wooden bead, to suit the archer's preference, is fixed to the end of the pointer.

The image shows a BBS-AS sprung contact sight along with an optional BBS-AS Sight Slide Stop.

Depending on what is fitted to the end of the point this sight should meet World Archery rules when used correctly.

BBS-AS 2cm Bar Contact Sight - £29.50

Image of 2cm Bar Sight.

A solid, unsprung bar sight with a 2cm long bar contact point. As well as the slide on the tripod fixing these sights can be adjusted by rotating the bar. One half turn will equal 0.5mm.

The image shows a BBS-AS 2cm bar contact sight along with an optional BBS-AS Sight Slide Stop.

This sight meets World Archery rules when used correctly.

BBS-AS 4cm Bar Contact Sight - £29.50 - temporarily unavailable

Image of 4cm Bar Sight.

A solid, unsprung bar sight with a 4cm long bar contact point. As well as the slide on the tripod fixing these sights can be adjusted by rotating the bar. One half turn will equal 0.5mm.

The image shows a BBS-AS 4cm bar contact sight along with an optional BBS-AS Sight Slide Stop.

Due to the length of the bar this sight does NOT meet World Archery rules but may be considered to be more suitable for a beginner.

BBS-AS Dome Nut Contact Sight - £24.50

Image dome nut contact - detail. Complete done nut sight in use.

A solid, unsprung bar sight with a dome nut contact point. As well as the slide on the tripod fixing these sights can be adjusted by rotating the dome nut. One half turn will equal 0.5mm.

This sight is supplied complete with two additional plastic caps. A cap will click on to the dome nut to provide a larger contact area with a different feel. If prefered it might be necessary to glue the cap in place.

The main image shows a BBS-AS dome nut contact sight along with an optional BBS-AS Sight Slide Stop. The second image show the relative size of the contact with and without cap fitted.

This sight meets World Archery rules when used correctly.

BBS-AS Sight Slide Stop - £1.00

Image of slide clamp - detail. Image of slide clamp in use.

We strongly recommend that the BBS-AS sights are removed from the tripods when not in use to minimise the risk of damage to the tripod head. The Slide Stop acts as a physical marker to help replace the sight in exactly the same position.

The Slide Stop consists of a carefully selected thumb-screw, nylon washer, metal washer and special nut that partially fits into the slot in the slide portion of all BBS-AS sights.

The Slide Stop is positioned hard up against the tripod head and then, when the sight is replaced, the sight is just slid to the same position and the bolts on the tripod head tightened. In use, this allows the archer to move the Slide Stopp should this be necessary. All that is required is less than one quarter turn and the Slide Stop will loosen so that it can be moved along the slide and then relocked with a quarter turn back. All this can be done one handed so that the archer can make adjustments while competing.
