BBS-AS Shop - Foot-locators and Accessories

This page has photographs and descriptions of the various types of foot-locators and foot-locator accessories that are available through the BBS-AS shop.

Ambidextrous Foot-locators

These Foot-locators are ambidextrous and fit virtually all draw lengths and “short/junior” and “extra long” versions are available if needed. They are available as a “Standard” or “Bespoke” set, further details below. They will fold up without removing any bolts although removing and then re-using the bolt from the “T” part allows an even more compact form for transport/storage.

These foot-locators are available in two finishes as shown above and described below:

  • Primer only. This is a single coat of an outdoor primer allowing the user to add a top coat of their choice. Paints intended for outdoor use are recommended.
  • Fully painted. Fully painted with a yellow outdoor paint. Please note that this option will take longer as the foot-locators will be painted to order.

These foot-locators are supplied in a storage bag (also available separately). Note that once in the bag the foot-locators are in an even more compact form as shown in the images above.

Standard Foot-locators - Primer only £45, Painted yellow £50

Standard version of the ambidextrous Foot-Locators which are usually in stock. These have holes suitable for the legs of the standard BBS-AS modified tripod. The foot-pieces are at a 70 degree angle (outside of foot) which has been shown to be the most popular angle. In addition, “short/junior” and “extra long” versions are available to order. These foot-locators are supplied in a storage bag (also available separately).

Bespoke Foot-locators - Primer only £45, Painted yellow £50

Bespoke version of the ambidextrous Foot-Locators which are made to order and therefore it will take longer for us to supply them. They have tripod holes sized for your tripod (within reason) and foot-pieces at your specified angles (outside of foot). In addition, “short/junior” and “extra long” versions are available to order. Note that the foot-pieces are on the outside edge of the archer's footwear and therefore this is not the angle of the inside of the archer's foot. Please contact us to discuss this if interested. Tripod hole size required and/or foot-piece angle must be specified with the order for the bespoke version. These foot-locators are supplied in a storage bag (also available separately).

Foot-locator Accessories

The following accessories are available for use with the BBS-AS Ambidextrous Foot-locators.

Mat Bolt Kit plus Mat - £13.00

Image of Foot-locators fitted to Mat.

To allow the use on hard surfaces (those unsuitable for tent pegs) the BBS-AS Ambidextrous Foot-locators have been designed to be attached to a mat. The mat can then be taped in place along its edge (it is strongly recommended that parcel tape is used as it does not leave a residue) or heavy weights placed on the mat to hold it in place.
The mat kit contains a suitable mat (80cm by 50cm barrier mat) plus the required nuts, bolts and washers and spares. The user will be required to make holes in the mat but instructions are available.
Please note that the colour of the supplied mat may not match the one shown in the photo.

Mat Bolt Kit - £3

Just the required nuts, bolts and washers from the mat kit (no mat but including a spare set of nut, bolt and washers).

Tent Peg set for Ambidextrous Foot-locators - £6

Image of single Tent Peg.

A set of eight tent pegs (seven plus one spare) for foot-locators. These are “hard ground” pegs which are selected to fit the holes provided in the BBS-AS Ambidextrous Foot-locators.

Storage Bag for Ambidextrous Foot-locators - £7

A bag that takes the Ambidextrous Foot-locators. These are available as spares as the Ambidextrous Foot-locators are supplied in one of these bags.
The large bolt holding the two parts together needs to be removed and the foot pieces slipped out of foot part but it does all fit neatly in the bag.

Foot-locator Design CDs

We offer the plans of two subtly different designs for making your own foot-locators.

Design CD issue 1.5 - £6

Image of issue 1.5 CD.

This contains the plans for the previous foot-locators design that we sold. It has the advantage that it does not require drilling a hole through the small sides of two pieces of wood so that they perfectly line up.
This design is made either left or right handed. It does not have the bolt of the ambidextrous design holding the two parts together so it needs the “T” part to interlock with the foot part to help alignment of the two parts.
A separate webbing strap is available for holding the two parts of the foot-locators together.
The CD also contains various “How To Guides” from the time the CD was created.

Design issue 2.1 - Ambidextrous Design - £6

This is the “new implementation for 2017” design of the Foot-locators that we are now selling ready made (see BBS-AS Ambidextrous Foot-locators above) which is not only ambidextrous, but also suits a wider range of draw lengths compared to the previous design. The design requires drilling a hole through the small sides of two pieces of wood so that the two holes perfectly line up.

The design is sent as part of an information pack that also contains the current versions of various “How To Guides”. The information pack is now sent by email.
